Vitesses radiales. Catalogue WEB: Wilson Evans Batten. Subtittle: Radial velocities: The Wilson-Evans-Batten catalogue.
We give a common version of the two catalogues of Mean Radial Velocitiesby Wilson (1963) and Evans (1978) to which we have added the catalogueof spectroscopic binary systems (Batten et al. 1989). For each star, when possible, we give: 1) an acronym to enter SIMBAD (Set ofIdentifications Measurements and Bibliography for Astronomical Data) ofthe CDS (Centre de Donnees Astronomiques de Strasbourg). 2) the numberHIC of the HIPPARCOS catalogue (Turon 1992). 3) the CCDM number(Catalogue des Composantes des etoiles Doubles et Multiples) byDommanget & Nys (1994). For the cluster stars, a precise study hasbeen done, on the identificator numbers. Numerous remarks point out theproblems we have had to deal with.

The spectroscopic orbits of HD 44780 and 65 Geminorum
Binary star systems in which both components are normal late-type giantsare rare. HD 44780 and 65 Gem are shown to be such systems: they haveperiods of 577 and 1601 days respectively, and their spectra areconspicuously double-lined for considerable parts of their orbits. Theirmass ratios are very close to unity, although their luminosity ratiosare not. Attention is drawn to the imminent series of lunar occultationsof 65 Gem.

Evidence for starspots on single solar-like stars
H-alpha intermediate-band and narrowband and lambda 4530 photoelectricphotometry carried out for five single main-sequence stars arepresented. For HD 149661, HD 152391, and HD 201091 low amplitudevariations of up to 0.04 mag at lambda 4530 are found. These variationsare attributable to the presence of starspots, and in the cases of HD149661 and HD 201091, an anti-correlation between the light variationand H-alpha and Ca II emission is found. Conclusions drawn from thisstudy include the idea that these three stars have active chromospheres, and that the light variation/Ca II and H-alpha variations are similar towhat is found in RS CVn systems.
